Hi! I'm Jennifer Cashin.

I hope to be your next CCS Board Member for District 2.

I grew up in New York, where I had the privilege of attending a large public school district that reminds me so much of Carmel Clay Schools. My graduating class was around 1,300 students, but that size gave me incredible opportunities. From challenging academic programs to a wide variety of extracurriculars, I was exposed to so many different people and experiences. It taught me how to find my voice, how to work with others, and how to step confidently into the real world. That experience is a big part of why I believe so strongly in the value of public education today.

After high school, I attended Bryant University, where I dove headfirst into both business and communication. Within four years, I earned two degrees: a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management and a Bachelor of Science in Communication. A few years later, I continued my education at the University of Massachusetts–Amherst, earning my MBA while working full-time as a data analyst.

My career began in data analytics, studying trends and uncovering insights that helped businesses make smarter decisions. Over time, that path led me into brand management, where I learned how to bring people together from operations, supply chain, finance, and creative teams to turn strategy into action. Today, I work as an independent consultant, partnering with clients in industries ranging from quick-service restaurants to household products. I love the challenge of adapting to each new project – solving problems, finding the story in the data, and turning it into a clear plan that makes an impact.

While my career has been rewarding, my most meaningful work has always been at home. My husband, John, and I have been married for 17 years, and together we’re raising our three kids here in Carmel – a community we’re proud to call home! You'll often find us cheering on our kids at cross country races, on the lacrosse field, or at soccer games. Our family loves to read, and every two weeks you’ll find us at the Carmel Clay Public Library, swapping out our latest reads for something new to discover.

I’ve always believed that strong communities are built by people who show up, get involved, and give back. When we moved to Carmel in 2020, I immediately became involved in our community through several organizations associated with our schools and have continued to serve our community through these opportunities:

  • Carmel Education Foundation - Ghosts & Goblins Family Fun Run Committee

  • Carmel Education Foundation - Scholarship Committee

  • Carmel Education Foundation - Taste of Carmel Committee

  • Clay Center Elementary PTO - Executive Committee - Corresponding Secretary & Social Media

  • Greyhound Council (CCS District-Wide Parent Council) - Founding Member & Vice President

  • Support CCS (Nonpartisan Political Action Committee) - Chair

  • Yes for CCS (Operating Referendum Political Action Committee) - Committee Member

Through this involvement, I’ve seen up close what makes our schools so special: dedicated teachers, engaged families, and a community that truly believes in giving kids every opportunity to succeed.

I’m running for Carmel Clay School Board - District 2 because I want to help protect and strengthen those opportunities. I believe in the power of collaboration, transparency, and keeping our focus where it belongs – on the students. Carmel Clay Schools are playing a vital role in shaping my children’s education - just as my own public school experience shaped me. I’m seeking this board opportunity to continue my track record of giving back to our district and to help ensure our schools remain strong for the next generation.
